Crema Sauce FAQs
Crema sauce is made of a mix of cream, sour cream and acid, usually lime juice. It's blended together into a creamy sauce, then rests so the flavors can infuse.
Sour cream is thicker and more tart than Mexican crema, and doesn't have any extra added flavors like lime juice. The thinner and creamier crema sauce has a better consistency for pouring, drizzling and dipping!
Crema is naturally slightly tart and tangy, with a rich creaminess meant to balance out spicier dishes. It's naturally made for adding more flavors to and can be modified however you wish.
