Ham Steak Glaze FAQ
When not properly glazed, ham steak can get dry quickly. Make sure to cook it with plenty of butter and glaze, making sure to glaze the meat during or before cooking it so the moisture stays locked into the meat.
Ham steak is typically made of fairly thin slices of ham, and is always fully cooked! It only takes 2-3 minutes per side when cooked in a pan for the ham slices to be cooked through and ready to eat. In the oven, cook for 15-25 minutes, until the glaze is sticky and the meat heated through.
Ham glaze is always made with the same base ingredients: a sugar, a flavor, and a liquid! These ingredients can be combined any way. I love brown sugar, honey, maple syrup, and spices as my main ingredients! So long as there's enough sugar to let it get sticky, any combination will turn out great.
