Quick Spaghetti Sauce
When I say I know how difficult it can be to get dinner on the table in time, or at all, trust me - I know. Raising 4 kids, I had my fair share of nights where I had no plans for dinner or any time to plan.
This quick and easy spaghetti sauce is a huge time-saver, which makes it a total lifesaver, to me. If you're short on time, it's easy to make with the pasta and meat all in one pot, so you spend less time cooking and much less time cleaning up after the meal!
And I promise you won't lose out on any flavor, either. Even though this is a quick spaghetti sauce recipe, it's still packed with flavor from a simple blend of seasonings and the benefit of cooking all in one pot. I guarantee you, and everyone at the table, will love it!
Simple Spaghetti Sauce Ingredients

- ground pork sausage
- red onion
- garlic

- red pepper flakes (optional)
How to Make Spaghetti Sauce
- In a large pot, add ground beef, pork sausage, salt, pepper, and chopped red onion and garlic.
- Add chicken stock, spaghetti sauce, and red pepper flakes. Slowly immerse the spaghetti pasta so it does not break. Bring to a boil and frequently stir to keep the pasta from sticking.
- Simmer 15-20 minutes, regularly stirring.
- Serve, and enjoy!
Tips for Making Spaghetti Sauce
- If you have time and want to make everything in the sauce from scratch, you can use my roasted tomatoes sauce instead of spaghetti sauce in a jar.
- Red pepper flakes are optional, but add a delicious kick to homemade spaghetti sauce. I highly recommend giving them a try!
- If you're using gluten-free noodles, I recommend cooking them separately and mixing them in at the end so they cook properly.
- You can use any variety of pasta you like, though be sure to choose one with a similar cook time to spaghetti pasta, and stir no matter what type you use.
FAQ for Homemade Spaghetti Sauce
If you don't have spaghetti sauce, you can also use canned tomatoes, tomato paste, or fresh roasted tomatoes. When substituting, be sure to test and adjust the flavors as you prefer.
In this easy spaghetti sauce recipe, dried herbs are used to deepen the flavor of the sauce. You can also add fresh basil at the end and shredded Parmesan cheese for additional flavor.
