Notes
If you can't find tamarind paste, substitute 4 Tablespoons of lime juice and 1 extra Tablespoon of brown sugar.
This sauce keeps well and is delicious as a dip or used for salad dressing! Make extra and keep it in the fridge!
For an extra delicious dish, sprinkle the finished product with crushed peanuts and an extra squeeze of lime juice.
Soy-Free Pad Thai Sauce: Instead of soy sauce, use coconut aminos. They're very sweet, so use half the brown sugar if you're using aminos.
Vegan Pad Thai Sauce: Replicate the flavor of fish sauce without the fish with my Vegan Fish Sauce recipe! Use it in place of the regular fish sauce.Variations:
Gluten-Free Pad Thai Sauce: Swap out the soy sauce for tamari - it'll taste the same, but have no hidden wheat gluten!
