Simple Homemade Teriyaki Sauce

My simple Homemade Teriyaki Sauce recipe uses easy ingredients and is ready in just 5 minutes to use in all your favorite teriyaki recipes!

Ingredients
  

  • ¾ cup soy sauce or gluten-free substitute such as tamari or coconut aminos
  • ½ cup rice wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha sauce
  • 1 inch ginger finely chopped; or, ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
  • 3 garlic cloves smashed and finely chopped; or, 1½ teaspoons garlic paste
  • 1 scallion or green onion, thinly sliced (both the green and white parts)
  • 1 orange zested

Instructions
 

  • Add all your ingredients to a bowl and mix to combine thoroughly.
    ¾ cup soy sauce, ½ cup rice wine vinegar, 1 tablespoon Sriracha sauce, 1 inch ginger, 3 garlic cloves, 1 scallion, 1 orange

  • Optional: Heat on the stove over low heat until heated through or the sauce reaches the consistency you like. The longer you heat it, the thicker it will become.
  • Serve with your favorite dish, and enjoy!

Notes

  • Make it hotter: Add a little more sriracha sauce or some red pepper flakes.
  • Make it sweeter: Add a little bit of honey or a sprinkling of sugar. I recommend heating the sauce if you add either of these ingredients so the sugar can melt properly.
