Gluten Free Drunken Noodles: To make this into a gluten free Thai sauce recipe, swap out the soy sauce (which contains trace amounts of wheat) for tamari, and check the labels on any oyster sauce before you buy it- some brands contain soy sauce or wheat for thickening!
If you don't have any ginger paste, fresh ginger grated finely on a zester will work too. In a pinch, dried ginger will work too, just with a lot less kick.
For the true Thai experience, look for Thai basil! It has a distinct flavor that differs from the classic sweet basil, but might be hard to find outside or Asian markets.
